This emergency response organization sounded the alarm when it needed a more robust web presence that would speak specifically to the community and offer e-commerce capabilities. 

THE CHALLENGE

With a growing number of constituents on mobile devices, Greenwich EMS (GEMS) needed a web site that provided a positive experience for all residents, including class registration and bill payment. In addition, many residents and businesses didn’t realize the value of GEMS beyond ambulance service, nor did they realize that GEMS is a not-for-profit organization that relies on support.

THE SOLUTION

Using a bootstrap framework, Berlin developed a web site that responds gracefully on phones, tablets and desktops. Berlin integrated the ModX content management system so GEMS can perform site updates but also manage a shopping cart for those registering for classes or paying a bill. In addition to handling all technical development, Berlin worked with GEMS to ensure first that top-level messaging is clear, then developed a strategy to simplify site content overall.

THE RESULTS

Streamlined payment for classes and ambulance rides has increased operational efficiency, as well as faster payment. Prominently positioned calls to action are also resulting in increased inquiries about volunteer programs and classes.
