BERLIN PRODUCTIONS WINS TWO TELLY AWARDS
DVDs for Kraft Foods and for BP take bronze honors
WHITE
PLAINS, NY – April 26, 2006 – Berlin Productions (BP) has won two bronze Telly Awards: one for a Kraft Foods training DVD, and the other for BP’s own demo reel.
The training DVD for Kraft Foods Global, in association with Braun, was used to train professional demonstrators in the use of the Tassimo hot beverage system, which brews gourmet coffee, tea and hot chocolate, cappuccino and lattés. While showing how to use Tassimo and how to demonstrate the unit in a retail environment, the DVD’s look and feel convey Tassimo’s sophistication and stylish elegance.
BP’s vice president Dylan Wood served as producer and editor for the project. “Producing a training video of this nature is challenging because you have to adhere to a budget and a prescribed length, yet it also needs to be as engaging as possible. It’s great to get a Telly for the Tassimo video specifically because it means we were able to balance all of the requirements.”
Shot on Betacam by Ridgefield Communications’ Bob McCarthy, the video begins with an overview of Tassimo, followed by a tour of its features, a walkthrough of best practices for demonstrators, and a short quiz. The video was written and directed by Curtis Hu of The Guild Group, a marketing and communications agency in White Plains, New York.
BP’s second Telly Award winner is the the company’s own demo reel. With a style similar to that of a music video, the DVD showcases the company’s most recent and noteworthy projects — web, interactive, video and print — and is enhanced by an original music score and artistic, cutting-edge transitions between visuals.
“Although the projects take the spotlight on our demo reel,” said BP’s president Rick Berlin, “it was important that the reel’s production get the attention that our projects get. Our demo winning a Telly — which, for non-broadcast producers, is like winning an Oscar — is very gratifying, because it means we’re as good at building our own brand as we are at helping our clients build theirs.”
